We’re looking for a residential pool to rent from early June through mid August 2025— pool needs both gas & solar, bathroom access, & ideally in Almaden area (or nearby)

Due to the growing demand of the Farnsworth Swim School, we are looking into adding an ADDITIONAL POOL for summer 2025 (June-mid August). The past few summers, we’ve had to turn away over 200 people due to lack of space.

Because these are 1-on-1 lessons and we focus on water safety, we have never had any liabilities in 44 years!

Pool Requirements:

  • Both gas and solar-powered (if you don’t have solar, Jaynie may be open to creating an agreement with you to help you install solar)- contact Jaynie to hear more.
  • Access to a bathroom
  • Medium-sized pool (ideally 12+ yards long)
  • Pool heated to 86+ degrees. We need both solar and gas to keep the pool temp up and solar reduces costs.
  • Steps in the shallow end
  • In San Jose or nearby vicinity (ideally Almaden)
  • Pool in good condition
  • Nice backyard aesthetics w/seating & shade
  • Good parking on the street
  • Healthy/good relationship w/your neighbors

Dates & Times

  • Early June- beginning of August (8-9 wks) with exception of the 4th of July off
  • Hours: Mornings 9:20-1:10 and/or afternoons 3-7pm
  • Mostly Mon-Thurs with 2 Fridays total all summer

The swim instructors are highly training in Lifeguard training, water safety instruction and are Farnsworth Swim School training.

There are lots of ways to earn money & the person who we rent from must be truly in support of the Farnsworth Swim School mission & making a difference in their community. We are also looking for someone who has both a growth mindset and a positive mindset.  As a finder’s award, we’re offering a gift certificate $500 towards Farnsworth Swim School Lessons or $500 cash value.

We have 2-3 lessons (1:1 student to teacher ratio) happening at once, so there’s no more than 4-6 TOTAL students/instructors in the pool at once. Due to the combination of highly-trained instructors, the focus on water safety, and the lessons being private (1-on-1), we have had 0 liabilities in 44 years. We also have excellent insurance and hold a San Jose business license.

* Jaynie Farnsworth, the CEO of the Farnsworth Swim School for the last 16 years with over 25 years of teaching experience is proud to be carrying on the legacy of her mother, Marianne, who started the Farnsworth swim school in 1980. Jaynie also hold’s a master’s degree in education and a CA K-8 teaching credential.
